The unveiling of Tony-winning songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman’s Sardi’s portraits on May 24 was off the charts.

20 years after winning a Tony for their score for Hairspray, Marc and Scott are nominated for their original score for Some Like It Hot, the most nominated musical of the season with 13 nods.
Nathan Lane introduced the pair and Marc kicked off the celebration singing “What Makes a Family” (Theme From Stuart Saves His Family).

In addition to the Tony nomination for original score, Marc and Scott have garnered a 2023 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Music and Lyrics, and 2023 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Score. Marc recently received the 2023 Frederick Loewe Award from the Dramatists Guild.
