Ruby Dolores Verner, a resident of El Segundo CA, died December 26, 2022 due to health-related issues at the age of 84.

Dolores, as she preferred to be called, was the daughter of Mary Jo and Leon Budd Verner. Born April 17, 1938, Dolores was preceded in death by her younger sister, Gail in 2015.
Dolores moved to the Los Angeles area in the late 80s and always considered it her home. She was an avid OU Sooners fan and enjoyed watching the OU Women’s softball team play.
She was very proud to have worked for the Los Angeles Airport Hilton for over twenty years. At the Hilton, she made many friends that she remained in contact with after her retirement in 2013. She loved to read books, magazines and newspapers. She enjoyed her retirement years with her online friends with Yahtzee, Tetris and several other games being her favorites to play.
Dolores always said her finest achievement was raising her three children and watching her grandchildren grow up. She had deep love for her neighbors Mary, Trish and Donella. Dolores is survived by her children Sheilah, Anita and Ken. She is also survived by son-in-law Darrell; grandchildren Kenneth and Amber and daughter-in-law Tami.
Dolores loved dogs. The family has requested that any donations be made in her name to the ASPCA.
A Ceremony of Life will be arranged later in the year for all her family and friends to attend.
